Without The author, Dan “John McClane” Abnett is a real fan of the stylized violence of the 40k universe, which is obvious when you read it. I was inspired by the slight derailment of the Star Wars EU thread when we started talking about Warhammer 40K novels, so I'll make a new one just for that topic. Anything by Dan Abnett is also a safe bet. As far as Eisenhorn goes, it's one of the better sci-fi novels I've ever read, forget that it's WH 40k, forget that it's derivative fiction. Today you can get them in one big omnibus with two short connecting stories. Ravenor is an omnibus collection of the three books in the “Ravenor” sequence: Ravenor, Ravenor Returned and Ravenor Rogue, set in the Warhammer 40k universe. However, being an omnibus, Eisenhorn contains all three books of the series. Other great books are the Eisenhorn, Ravenor, and Grey Knights Omnibus.
